Carbon Offsetting

Carbon offsetting is a financial mechanism for compensating for carbon dioxide emissions produced by an organisation or activity, with an equivalent carbon dioxide saving. It involves calculating emissions and purchasing ‘credits' from emission reduction projects which have prevented or removed an equivalent amount of carbon dioxide elsewhere.
