Greenbelt

Greenbelt - Policy or land use designation used in land use planning to retain areas of largely undeveloped, wild, or agricultural land surrounding or neighbouring urban areas. Greenfield land is a term used to describe a piece of underdeveloped land, either currently used for agriculture or just left to nature. Greenspace is any vegetated land or water within or adjoining an urban area. They are areas that are used for leisure and recreation, including formal areas (parks and gardens), informal areas (open spaces and recreation grounds), natural areas (woodland, natural and semi-natural areas and access land), allotments, sports facilities and facilities for children and young people.
